The Modern Kids are portraits of a group of young boxers based in Northern England.

In the Fall of 2010, I began to visit an amateur boxing club just outside of Liverpool in a suburb called Ellesmere Port. Boxing is akin to portraiture. It comes down to timing, trusting yourself and intuitively knowing when to move and strike. It is a one-on-one exchange between you and your opponent. As the clock ticks, the rest of the world goes away.
